Two-Time Champion Hutton Hoping To Continue Last Season’s Form As She Eyes Title No.3
With under a week to go until the 2026 British National Championships get underway in Weybridge, two-time champion and current World No.12 Jasmine Hutton has expressed her excitement for another chance to potentially lift the coveted trophy and put some good match practice into her legs ahead of a busy season on the PSA Squash Tour.
“I always love playing the Nationals,” said Hutton.
“It’s a historic and prestigious event that all the top British players want to play in and try and win.
“I like it even more that it’s hosted at St George’s Hill. It’s a club that I obviously know very well and a court that I feel super comfortable on. The field is always strong and it’s often not the easiest to click into gear straight away after the off-season but I’m excited to play it once again.”
Hutton enjoyed a breakthrough season last year on the PSA Squash Tour. She reached a career-high of World No.12 and captured her biggest PSA title in Germany at the Hamburg Open Bronze event. She’s looking to start this season with the same form as she ended the last.
“Last season was a great year for me,” explained Hutton.
“I’m really happy with the level I produced for the majority of the season. The best moment obviously came in Hamburg, it was just really good for me to finally get over the line in a Bronze level event like that. I had felt as though a week like that was coming but I just had to keep doing what I was doing and the win would come.
“In terms of my ranking, I’m very pleased with that as I felt like I was a bit stuck for the last 18 months or so. But I’m happy that I’ve broken through a group of players and I’m now just focused on trying to move towards the top 10 as I certainly think that I produced a top 10 level on court at times last season.”

No.2 seed Hutton is a three-time finalist at the British Nationals, with her first win coming in 2022 in Nottingham. She then became only the eighth female player to win back-to-back titles with a win over Wales’ Tesni Murphy in St George’s Hill’s first Nationals. She’s seeded to reach the final again this year but admits that there’ll be no easy fixture once again in the tournament.
“The women’s game is getting stronger all the time, not just in the UK but across the world.
“Gina [Kennedy] has been in the top 10 for a while now and looks to be back to her best. Torrie [Malik] is improving all the time and played so well last season. There’s also Lucy [Turmel], Grace [Gear] and more who will all be targeting the Nationals as an event to do well at, so it certainly won’t be easy.”
Hutton opens her 2026 Nationals campaign on the all-glass court at 19:30 against Wales’ Ellie Breach.
