The 2026 British National Squash Championships get underway in less than 24 hours’ time, with 32 players arriving at St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club, Weybridge, in search of the prestigious titles.
England No.1s Marwan ElShorbagy and Georgina Kennedy have been named as the top seeds for the 2026 edition, with the likes of Mohamed ElShorbagy, Jasmine Hutton and Jonah Bryant also among those in contention to lift the trophy come Saturday night.

The men’s event has plenty of storylines to capture the imagination, with the ElShorbagy brothers, Marwan and Mohamed, named in the same half of the draw, and up-and-coming English star Jonah Bryant on the hunt for his first British Nationals crown.
With injuries restricting Marwan to a solitary British Nationals appearance in 2024, and even that seeing him withdraw midway through his semi-final contest with Joel Makin, the 33-year-old looks as well placed as ever to land his first success at the event.
However, a potential all-ElShorbagy showdown could well await the World No.9, while the likes of No.2 seed Bryant and No.4 seed Curtis Malik also lie in the bottom half of the draw.
Both semi-finalists 12 months ago, Bryant and Malik are seeded to face off in the last four of this year’s event. At just 21 and ranked at World No.10, Bryant is widely regarded as a future star of the men’s game and will be hoping to lift his first British Nationals title this week.
Meanwhile, in the women’s event, World No.8 Georgina Kennedy will return to the British Nationals with her sights firmly set on reclaiming the title she won in 2024, having been forced to withdraw from last year’s championships due to injury.
There will be plenty of competition for the top seed, though, in particular from No.2 seed and home club favourite Jasmine Hutton. Currently sat at a career-high rank of World No.12, Hutton will be eying a British Nationals three-peat, having lifted the trophy previously in 2022 and 2023.
Elsewhere, No.3 seed Lucy Turmel and No.4 seed Torrie Malik will hope for runs into the latter stages of the event, with 22-year-old Malik displaying the threats her attack-minded game can pose last year when finishing runner-up at the event.
Turmel has been drawn in the same half of the draw as Hutton, while Malik and Kennedy are projected to meet in the semi-finals if the event goes to seeding.
