Tesni Evans in action

Former Champion Tesni Evans withdraws

World No.17 and two-time British National Champion Tesni Evans has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming championships due to an ongoing injury.

The Welsh No.1 was the event’s No.2 seed and will now be unable to score a hat-trick of titles at the National Squash Centre in Manchester next week. Her compatriot Emily Whitlock moves into the No.2 seed position to play Scotland’s Alison Thomson in round one.

Torrie Malik and Alicia Mead now move into the main draw of the event. Malik has the tough task of facing No.1 seed and last year’s runner-up Georgina Kennedy, whilst Mead faces Millie Tomlinson for a place in the quarter finals.
